A 26-year-old , who was a software engineer and returned from US after pursuing MS recently, committed suicide by hanging in a hotel room at Lakdi-Ka-Pul on Sunday night.

Police said Pallavi (26) of Hayathnagar went to Bangalore on Friday last and returned to the city on Sunday morning. She checked into a hotel by submitting passport documents. As she was supposed to vacate the room on Monday morning, the hotel staff repeatedly knocked on the door, but there was no response from her.

Police alerted

The staff then alerted the police who broke open the door and found her hanging, the police said. Police identified Pallavi with the help of her passport documents. She came to the city from US just two months ago.

Saifabad Police called up her parents and based on preliminary investigation it appeared that Pallavi resorted to the extreme step as she was reportedly under depression after her parents objected to her going back to the United States. A case has been registered in this regard.
