An unidentified woman in her early 20s was found murdered in the house of a mason in Chatrinaka area in the Old City on Monday. Police, however, are clueless about the victim’s identity and motive behind the murder.
The victim’s hands were tied and was strangled to death with a ‘chunni’ in the house of Mallesh at Uppuguda, who found the body lying on the floor after he returned home in the evening. Neighbours told the police that the woman was brought to the house by the mason’s son, Shiva Kumar, three days ago. Kumar is pursuing a PG course in Osmania University.
“The relationship between Kumar and the woman is not known. But it is confirmed that he brought her home when his parents were away,” the Chatrinaka Inspector, G. Narayana Reddy, said. Inquiries revealed that Kumar is residing in `C’ hostel on the OU campus. His mobile phone was switched off.
Investigators suspect he might have killed the woman and fled from the spot.
