The Panjagutta police on Thursday detained three persons who sexually assaulted a Dalit woman after taking her to an isolated place, offering a job, and murdered her five days ago.

A resident of Panjagutta, the woman, aged about 30 years, was working in a private office. Her supervisor and two others lured her to an undisclosed location in the city, promising her a better job, confined her to a room and violated her.

Dump body in bushes

Worried about the woman complaining to the police, they murdered her. Later, the accused shifted the body to Nagarjunasagar area in Nalgonda district in a Santro car and dumped the body in roadside bushes. As the woman didn't return home, her mother approached the Panjagutta police who registered a case of missing person.

On stumbling upon evidence that she was last seen with her supervisor Reddy, the police took him and two of his associates into custody. During interrogation, Reddy and his accomplices reportedly admitted to have raped the woman and murdered her. Based on their confession, the police went to Nagarjunasagar and retrieved the highly decomposed body of the woman.

DNA fingerprinting

“We're planning to conduct DNA fingerprinting test to confirm the identity of the victim as the body had decomposed beyond recognition, though her family members identified the clothes were that of hers,” the Panjagutta police said.
