A 20-year-old woman alleged sexual harassment by a cab driver when the latter had promised to drop her at Uppal. The Ghatkesar police received a complaint from the woman in which she alleged that she was nearly raped by four men, including cab driver Ravi, who promised to drop her at Uppal after picking her up at Sitaphalmandi at 9.30 p.m. When the victim asked the driver why there were three other men in the car, he explained that they were going to Srisailam and would drop her on the way. The driver then drove the car to an isolated spot and demanded that she get intimate with the men in the car. When the victim refused and dialled the police helpline number, Ravi hit her. The victim raised an alarm which forced the men to drop her on the way and escape.
