A 25-year-old woman Sarita alias Mallamma, who was living with her parents after her husband died, was found murdered in the house at Chilkuru village in Moinabad on Friday.
Police suspect the killer tried to sexually assault the woman after finding her alone in the house and killed her as she resisted.
“She was lying dead on the floor in the second room of the tiled-roof house. The killer smashed her head with a blunt object,” Moinabad Inspector Shekhar Goud said.
Investigators believe a scuffle ensued between the killer and the victim. Sarita’s father Seenaiah found his daughter dead after returning home from work around noon.
