A woman Home Guard, G. Sunitha, who left her house at Kothapet two days ago, was found murdered in a private office at Nallakunta on Sunday.
Police are yet to discern those responsible for the crime.
The victim’s body was in found in a decomposed condition. Her husband, Mangilal, an attender at Ashthalaxmi temple in Kothapet, told police that she left the house on Friday evening and didn’t return home.
Those in the vicinity of the VR Consultancy office at Nallakunta, from where Sunitha’s body was found, noticed foul smell emanating from the building.
They called in the police who found the office door and the building’s main gate too locked.

“The murderers strangled her to death with a chunni , which was found tied around her neck,” Nallakunta Inspector V. Jayapal Reddy said.
Investigators believe the killers were known to the victim who hails from Khammam district.
House burgled
Thieves made off with gold and silver ornaments weighing 400 grams and one kilo respectively from a house after sneaking inside by removing window grills at Meerpet in the early hours of Sunday.
The owner of the house, Ch. Krishna Rao, and his family had slept on the terrace on Saturday night, after locking the main door of the house, located at Malla Reddy colony of Almasguda. When Mr. Krishna Rao came downstairs at around 5 a.m. on Sunday, he found the lock broken.
“The main door also had a central lock which the offenders apparently couldn’t break. Hence, they removed the window grills and entered inside,” Meerpet Inspector T. Ravinder said. They broke open an almirah and took away the gold and silver jewellery.
24-year-old road mishap victim dies
An engineering student Mohd. Nooruddin, 24, of Tolichowki who had been undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a road accident on Friday died on Sunday morning.
Nooruddin was riding pillion along with his friend on a motorbike when the vehicle skid. He sustained head injuries and was shifted to a corporate hospital.
Later, his family members shifted him to the Osmania General Hospital where he died while being treated. Police are investigating.
12-year-old boy drowns at Hakeempet
A 12-year-old boy drowned in a water tank at Hakeempet on Sunday afternoon. Md. Sameer, had gone to Hakeempet talab with his friends and drowned as he did not know swimming. The body was fished out and sent for post-mortem. Banjara Hills police are investigating.
