A 53-year-old woman was crushed to death under the wheels of an APSRTC bus after she was flung through its window when the driver applied sudden brakes at Nacharam on Wednesday.
The victim identified as Laxmi Devi boarded the Metro bus at the ESI hospital.

The woman standing close to the front door got tossed out of the window and came under the wheels after falling on the road, Nacharam Inspector S. Ashok Kumar said. Death was instant for her.
“We were told that the windows did not have steel railings,” the Inspector said. A case of rash and negligent act resulting in death was registered against the bus driver.
Action would be initiated against the APSRTC officials concerned if their negligence leading to the woman’s death was found, he said.Two Sudanese held

Yadagiri (24) -- and recovered stolen gold jewellery and silver articles along with 1,200 US dollars, all worth Rs. 6.5 lakh.
