Woman ends life after quarrel with neighbour

A 35-year-old-woman, D. Chamundeshwari, a housewife from Abdulapurmet in Hayatnagar set herself afire and died on Saturday, the police said.

The family members of the woman told the police that she got dejected after her neighbour Bhuvaneshwari threatened to send her to jail over a dispute in the colony.

The police registered a case under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC against Bhuvaneshwari and launched an investigation.

Minor succumbs to burns

A twelve-year-old girl, Anees Fatima, of Chandrayangutta who suffered burns after hot water fell on her four days ago died on Saturday night, the police said. The victim was trying to stop her younger sister from going near a hot water container when it fell on her.

The girl was rushed to the Osmania General Hospital for treatment where she succumbed to burns on Saturday night.

Commits suicide

In a separate case a teenager, M. Sailaja, 15, a resident of weaker section colony in Chandrayangutta committed suicide by setting herself ablaze on Saturday, the police said. The police are trying to ascertain the reasons behind her suicide.

Man killed in accident

Sai Teja (24), a resident of Kapra, died after the motorcycle he was riding on hit a road divider near the NISE Building at Kushaiguda.

The man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Man mowed down by RTC bus

S. Bhupathi, (30) a businessman from Shahpur died after coming under the wheels of an APSRTC bus at Kukatpally.

The man was trying to get down from the bus when the incident took place, the police said.

Two held for selling fake certificates

The Commissioner’s Task Force (East) on Sunday arrested two persons on charges of preparing and selling fake educational certificates.

The police recovered a laptop, a printer and 18 educational certificates of different universities from them.

The arrested persons Kiran Kumar Siddula, 33, hailing from Nalgonda and C. Santhosh, 29, a private employee of Malakpet scanned genuine educational certificates on a scanner.

Later, they would take out a colour printout after changing the particulars and affix fake rubber stamps and seals of different universities on them. They would give the certificates to job aspirants after collecting charges between Rs. 3,500 and Rs. 4,000 from them, the police said.

Kiran Kumar was earlier arrested on two occasions by the police in 2010 and 2012. The arrested persons were handed over to Rein Bazaar police station for necessary action.

Rs. 10 lakh seized from businessman

The Cyberabad police seized Rs.10 lakh in a car at Shamshabad on Sunday afternoon. A businessman, Ram Gopal Patari, 70, a resident of Banjara Hills was carrying the cash in a Skoda car when he was stopped at Palmakul village for vehicle-checking. The businessman failed to provide documents for the funds. The amount was handed over the Income Tax Department.

Two women caught for drink-driving

Traffic Police on Saturday caught two women for driving in inebriated condition at Banjara Hills. Both were driving four-wheelers and had blood level of about 60 mg. The women were among the 260 motorists caught by the police during the special drive last weekend.
