Woman drowns in quarry pit

An 18-year-old woman drowned in a stone quarrying pit filled with water at Devender Nagar in Jagadgirigutta police limits on Sunday. Police said that the deceased Lakshmi, a native of Madhya Pradesh went to the quarrying pit at around 8.30 a.m. and drowned accidentally. According to the police Lakshmi’s father works as a mason in State Government’s double bedroom houses construction project in the area. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy and later it was handed over to family members.
