Mystery shrouds the death of a former air hostess who died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Uppal late on Sunday night. Ritu Sarin’s family accused her husband of being involved in her death.
A native of Jharkhand, Sarin lived along with her husband Sachin, a businessman at Indiranagar Colony in Ramanthapur under Uppal police station limits, for over a year. She had worked as an air hostess with a private airliner and left her job a few months after marriage following family issues, police said.
“The family told us that the couple often quarrelled over dowry-related matters. However, elders from both families sorted out the issue and persuaded them to live together,” Malkajgiri DCP R Rama Rajeshwari said.
On Sunday, Sachin called up family members of the woman and told them that she was not well, asking them to come to the city. However, by the time they rushed to the city, the woman died while undergoing treatment.
“It is too early to say what exactly happened. But there are injuries on the forehead. We are awaiting the post-mortem examination report to ascertain the cause of death,” the official said.
