She was initially rushed to near-by hospital and later shifted to a corporate hospital as the injury was life-threatening. A resident of Rein Bazaar, the woman was sitting pillion on the bike being ridden by her husband Abdul Hafeez. They were going from Nampally to Khairatabad when the steel rod slipped from the top of bridge under construction.

“We registered a criminal case under Section 338 of the IPC against L&T company which is constructing metro rail,” Nampally Inspector K. Madhumohan Reddy said. According to him, it was not yet clear how the steel rod slipped from the top of metro rail corridor.
