Woman commits suicide

A 26-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging at her parent’s house at Prakashnagar in Begumpet on Thursday. Ratnaveni’s husband Uday Kumar dropped her at her parent’s residence after a quarrel over a marital issue.

Unable to cope up with the problem, Ratnaveni killed herself when her mother went out on some work, according to the police.

Man consumes poison

In another incident, a 37-year-old man ended his life by consuming poison near his in-laws house at Jodimetla in Ghatkesar.

The police said Mohammed Rehman took the drastic step due to family problems.

Gold chain snatched

Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from a school teacher at Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Colony on Friday morning. According to police, Vijaya, a resident of seventh phase in KPHB Colony, got down from a bus and was going to her school when the miscreants came from the opposite direction and snatched her gold chain weighing eight tolas.

Businessman charged with kidnapping

Cyberabad police on Wednesday booked a case against a businessman for allegedly kidnapping three members of a family in connection with a financial dispute.

Police said the accused, Yedukondalu, and his partner, Chaitanya, were at loggerheads.

Chaitanya’s brother-in-law Naveen had approached L.B. Nagar police on Friday night and lodged a complaint saying Yedukondalu had kidnapped Chaitanya’s wife Sravanthi, his father Prasad and mother Kumari, police said.

Prasad later called up Naveen, and informed him that the trio had been kidnapped by someone. Subsequently, the telephone went silent, police said.
