A 40-year-old woman, who was returning from work late on Monday night, was abducted and raped by two unidentified persons at Medipally on the eastern part of the city.
Mother of three children, the victim used to work at a construction site in Uppal. “After 10 p.m. on Monday, she started for her home in Boduppal on foot. When she reached an isolated place in Pirjadiguda, two bike-borne men intercepted her,” Medipally Inspector K. Jagannath Reddy said on Tuesday.
They dragged her to corner, made her sit on the bike and drove to an interior area of Pirjadiguda. They stopped at a secluded place surrounded by bushes and violated her. “When the woman resisted, they beat her up with sticks. She suffered a bleeding injury on her head,” the Inspector explained.
After the accused left the place, the woman walked back to the main road and approached Medipally police. A few years ago, the woman got separated from her husband and was living at Boduppal with her three children.
The victim was recuperating and unable to give details about the accused. Hunt was on for the rapists based on info provided by her, the police said.
