Superstar Rajnikanth’s movies are bound to generate a lot of buzz, as well as huge expectations from his fans. His latest, Lingaa , is no different. The movie, which also has Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha, will hit the screens on Friday. However, one artiste to watch out for would be Jagapathi Babu. By agreeing to play a villain in Balakrishna’s Legend , the actor began his second stint.
After receiving huge appreciation for this role, he agreed to play an important character in Lingaa too. News doing the rounds is that actor will play a negative role and has a significant screen space in the film. Given the huge viewer base of Rajinikanth’s movies that go beyond one region, the movie might just be a turning point in Jagapathi Babu’s career, which was almost considered a fading one until recently.
Fast-tracking for the family?
It was originally slated for a release this coming Sankranti (January 14, 2015), but a strange adjustment has taken place and this film will hit the screens on December 24, a full three weeks in advance. That’s the latest on Mukunda , which has Varun Tej – son of Chiranjeevi’s brother K. Nagendra Babu (better known as Naga Babu) – in the lead.
Varun Tej will romance fresh face Pooja Hegde in this film, which will be the third offering from Srikanth Addala, whom people sat and took notice, first after ‘Dil’ Raju’s Kotha Bangaru Lokam and then Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC), the multi-starrer with Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh.
Mickey J. Meyer, also of SVSC-fame has scored the music for this film.
Interestingly, it is being said that the Mukunda storyline vaguely resembles Shiva of yesteryears that catapulted Akkineni Nagarjuna into the upper echelons in tinsel town. Not much of the story is known, except that it is about youth and politics too. There is also talk that the release of Mukunda was advanced only to facilitate the release of Varun Tej’s uncle Pawan Kalyan’s Gopala, Gopala !
