A welder, P. Ravinder, 28, of Dundigal, was found murdered at his house on Sunday night. He was hit on the head by some object.

According to the police, Ravinder was staying along with his mother after his wife deserted him a few months ago. On Friday he locked the house and left it saying he was going to attend to some work but did not return.

Later in the evening his mother called him over phone but some unidentified persons answered the call and told her that Ravinder would come home after three days. They asked her to stay at the house of a relative till then.

However, on Sunday, the woman grew suspicious after foul smell emanated from the house.

With the help of her relatives she managed to break the lock and found Ravinder’s body.

“The miscreants killed him after hitting him with some object on his head. They later locked the door from outside and went away.

They took his cell phone and bike also,” said B. Narsimhulu, Dundigal SI.

The police registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of IPC and are making efforts to catch the killers.
