A 55-year-old watchman, who repeatedly raped a 14-year-old girl living in his locality at Begum Bazaar here, was arrested by Shahinayathgunj police on Monday.
M. Ravinder Reddy, inspector, Shahinayathgunj, said Tulasi Ram Yadav, watchman at DK Market, lured the girl to his room offering chocolates, biscuits and ice cream and repeatedly raped her in the late hours of Saturday.
The incident came to light on Sunday when the girl informed her mother about it. Based on the complaint lodged by her mother, a case under section 346 (1) of IPC and Section 3 & 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) was booked against the accused. The girl was sent to Barosa Centre.
