The wages of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) workers in other categories have been enhanced from Rs.6,700 to Rs.8,500, on a par with those of outsourced sanitation workers of the civic body. GHMC Commissioner, Somesh Kumar, in a press release issued here on Tuesday thanked the government for the decision and said the orders would be implemented with immediate effect.

For the welfare of the employees, the GHMC would be providing lunch rooms, change rooms, lockers, regular payments for ESI and EPF and observance of grievance day every Monday between 1 p.m. and 1.30 p.m., he said. A human resource module is being introduced for monitoring of regular payments, increments and maintenance of leave accounts etc of the employees, he added.
