A 55-year-old woman Moghalamma died while her husband and son sustained bleeding injuries when they were allegedly attacked by two persons in Velchal village of Mominpet mandal of Ranga Reddy District late on Monday night.
According to Vikarabad DSP P. Swamy, the victim Moghalamma’s family and the accused person Aashiah’s family were neighbours. Both the families had dispute over a piece of land.
On Monday night, Moghalamma, her husband Buchaiah (60) allegedly abused Aashiah after the latter told them not to use the lane. Aashiah, who was present in the house along with his relative Laxmiah came out and allegedly attacked the couple with a stick and iron rod. Her son Narahari, who tried to intervene was also attacked, the official said.
Moghalamma sustained a head injury in the attack and died while undergoing treatment at Government Hospital in Vikarabad while Buchiah and Narahari were shifted to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. The condition of Buchiah was stated to be critical.
“The attack was a result of dispute over 20 feet long and 3 feet wide lane. We have registered a case and are investigating,” the DSP said. The police took into custody Aashiah and Laxmiah for questioning.
