Mahesh Gorijala of Vijayawada secured fourth rank in the electronics and communication engineering (ECE) stream of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), the results of which were released on Thursday.
Several students from Hyderabad also scored good ranks in GATE, whose scores are considered for PG programmes in IITs, NITs and other engineering colleges. GATE score is also used by public sector undertakings for recruitment of fresh graduate engineers.
A total of 9.28 lakh candidates registered for GATE-2015, and the maximum number of candidates appeared for mechanical engineering stream.
