Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao on Saturday launched ‘silent protest’ (Mouna Deeksha) at Gandhi Bhavan demanding a brainstorming session on the party affairs at Gandhi Bhavan but wound it up within four hours after Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Raj Narasimha assured to take his grievance to the notice of the high command.

The silent protest triggered sudden political activity in the ruling Congress with the pro and anti-Chief Minister groups sharpening their knives. Some Congress leaders close to the Chief Minister went on overdrive to lodge complaints against Mr. Rao about anti-party activity to the AICC.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister’s detractors Health Minister D. L. Ravindra Reddy, former Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao and MLC K.R.Amos made it a point to call on Mr. Rao to express their solidarity.
