June 30, 2012 09:48 am | Updated 09:48 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Indian veterans table tennis team, which had to spend agonising moments after being stranded near Stockholm for most of Friday after a travel agency ditched its return plans, finally heaved a sigh of relief thanks to the initiative of the Indian Embassy in Sweden. The team had 92 members from four States including Gujarat, AP, Maharashtra, Manipur and 55 of them are from AP.

However, thanks to the Embassy officials -- R. K. Mishra and Vijay Singh, the team could travel by road from Stockholm to Zurich with each member spending Rs. 20,000 for this trip. The agency was made to give a written commitment to pay back Rs. 12,000 to each once they return.
