The US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) test is ‘passable’ and entails four exams which include Accounting, Business Environmental Concepts, Financial Accounting and Reporting and Regulation.

Addressing those interested to take the exam, Becker International Professional Education managing director Benjamin Wong explained its structure including the number of objective type questions aspirants would have to answer. Unlike examinations some accountancy examinations in India, the US CPA exam comprises mostly objective type questions. “The CPA exam is 95 % objective questions based,” Mr. Wong said. He pointed out that international students know little or nothing about US tax and pointed out how tax reform is important in the US context. “Tax reform is a big thing,” he said added that training programmes are conducted on the subject.

The US CPA is a recognised accounting designation. Becker International Professional Education’s India partner is Simandhar Education LLP.
