Ugadi Puraskarams for 42 persons

The State government on Monday announced Ugadi Puraskarams for 2012 (Nandana Nama Telugu year) to 42 personalities acknowledging their services in different fields. The award, which will consist of a citation and cash (Rs. 5,116) will be handed over to these personalities by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy at the official Ugadi celebrations on March 23 at Ravindra Bharati.

The names of the awardees are:

Literature & poetry: P. Aasha Raju, Turaga Janaki Rani, Rachapalem Chandrasekhar Reddy, Munimalle Raju

Music: Dwaram Durga Prasad, P. Surya Rao, Rajul Kar, Vedavathi Prabhakar Rao, D. Surekha Murthy, Jayaprada Rama Murthy, Dhulipala Srinivas

Dance: Pasumarthy Ramalinga Sastry, Mahankali Mohan, Manjula Ramurthy, Sappa Durga Prasad, Koka Vijaya Lakshmi

Drama: BAV Naidu, Patibandla Ananda Rao, Vidya Bhaskar

Sculpture: Raj Kumar Odiyar, D. Appa Rao

Painting: Mirza Ali Baig, Kavita Deuskar, Hari Bholeekar

Mimicry: Bhaviri Rao

Magic: Ch. Shyam,

Burrakatha: SK Babji

Journalism: P. Vaman Rao, Dasu Kesava Rao, K. Ramachandra Murthy

Harikatha: Uma Maheswari, Bommaraju Panduranga Rao, Rukmabhatla Narasimha Swamy
