The Medical, Health & Family Welfare Department has announced that of the 10 samples tested for swine flu, two have tested positive but no fatalities have been reported in the city. In an official press release, health officials said all the testing kits are available and also adequate medicines at all Government hospitals.

The Institute of Preventive Medicine is ready to accept free testing of samples for in-patients from all private hospitals. It was advised that patients suffering from high fever, sneezing cough and body pains should take precautions and rush to the nearest hospital.

The hospitals were asked to examine, treat and isolate patients who showed swine flu-like symptoms.

Samples should be sent to IPM with necessary details of the patient. In case the patient did not wish to join any private hospital, he or she should be sent to Gandhi Hospital.

Homoeopathy medicine could be taken under the guidance of a doctor and free medicine was available at all Ayush dispensaries and the Government Hospital at Ramanathapur, the release added.
