February 24, 2015 06:32 pm | Updated April 02, 2016 12:12 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Amidst speculation that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was trying to lure Telugu Desam MLAs, two of the TDP legislators from City have denied plans to join the ruling party in Telangana.

Secunderabad Cantonment MLA, G. Sayanna categorically stated that he was not quitting the TDP. He said that he had been with the TDP for the past 30 years and was elected to Assembly on four occasions. While admitting that TRS leaders have been sending feelers to the TDP MLAs to join their party for “better future”, he said that he had no intention to leave the TDP and maintained that the party was strong in Telangana.

Party MLA from Kukatpally M .Krishna Rao also said that he had no immediate plans to join TRS, but could not predict about future. He said that the TRS has been asking him and other TDP MLAs from Telangana to join the party for quite some time and that he had brought the same to the notice of TDP President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu earlier.

He had met Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao recently to invite him for a wedding in the family and politics was not discussed. He said the media has been speculating even though he met Mr. Rao to extend an invitation for a wedding.

Mr. Krishna Rao said he had been with the TDP for over three decades and he was not willing to desert his leader. He said it was proved during the recent meeting at Warangal that there was “craze” for Mr. Chandrababu Naidu among the people. The same kind of crowd did not turn up when TDP Telangana leaders took out a bus yatra, he added.
