Two men killed in separate road accidents

A 27-year-old-man was killed after the two-wheeler he was riding rammed a lorry at Sagar complex in Vanasthalipuram on Sunday morning. The man identified as M. Kumar from Ibrahimpatnam was going from B. N. Reddy Nagar towards Ibrahimpatnam when the accident occurred. Death was instant for Kumar. The lorry driver fled the spot.

In a separate case, B. Anjaiah (82) from Yadagirigutta was killed after he was hit by a car at L. B. Nagar on Monday morning. The octogenarian had come to Chandrapuri Colony to meet his daughter and was walking towards a bus stop when the car hit him. The car driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. The police seized the vehicle and launched a manhunt for the driver.

Women succumb to burns

E. Kalamma (20), a housewife from Prakashnagar in Meerpet, who was undergoing treatment for burns she sustained accidentally while cooking at her house last week, succumbed on Saturday night, the police said. The woman sustained over 40 p.c. burns and was admitted to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) by her family members. The police are investigating the case.

In another case, Venkata Laxamma (23) who doused herself with kerosene and set herself on fire at her house at Kamsampally village in Basheerabad in Ranga Reddy last week, died while undergoing treatment at the OGH on Saturday, the police said. She ended her life due to family disputes, the police added.
