Two held under Nirbhaya Act in separate cases

The Cyberabad police on Sunday arrested a private employee for allegedly stalking a nurse at Kukatpally.

The arrested person, R. Srinivas Raj (38), a real-estate company employee and resident of KPHB Colony was following a nurse coming in an auto-rickshaw from Jeedimetla to KPHB Colony on his bike. He also made indecent gestures. The auto driver stopped Srinivas’s bike on the main road.

With the help of passers-by, the auto driver bashed him up and handed him over to the police. Kukatpally Inspector S. Chandrakanth said a case under Nirbhaya Act was booked against him.

In a separate incident, the police nabbed an autorickshaw driver on charges of misbehaving with a seven-year-old girl at his house at Pragathinagar Colony under the Meerpet police station limits on Sunday. The accused, Yadagiri (28) committed the crime when family members were away .

The incident came to light when the girl complained about Yadagiri’s behaviour to her mother.

The police arrested Yadagiri under Nirbhaya Act.
