Two close pals, appearing for Class X board examinations, committed suicide by jumping off the eight floor of a high-rise residential tower in LB Nagar on Thursday evening, police said.

The teenagers were identified as Bhargavi Patel and Sawani Kale, both aged about 15 years.

According to LB Nagar inspector P. Kasi Reddy, the incident took place around 6.40 p.m on Thursday. The duo jumpedd off from a balcony in Bhargavi's flat in TNR apartment.

“Sawani, a resident of Chitra layout, visited Bhargavi's house for combined studies to prepare for the ongoing Class X examinations. Parents of both the victims claim that they were close friends and were studying in the same school,” he said.

Suicide note

Police recovered Sawani’s suicide note from Bhargavi’s room, which reads “Dear Maa and Paa, I'm sorry, I could not be your strong bacha. I miss you (sic).”

Police did not find a suicide note from Bhargavi.

Mr. Reddy said they were yet to ascertain the reason behind them committing suicide.

“We are investigating why the girls ended their lives,” he said, adding that bodies were sent to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.

A case was registered and a probe has been initiated to determine the reason.
