The State government has allotted two acres of land in Serilingampally mandal for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for construction of Videsh Bhawan.

The land spread over Madhapur and Khanamet villages in Serilingampally will be allotted on payment of ₹30,000 a sq.yard.

The MEA sought allocation of two-acre land for the construction of Videsh Bhawan.

The MEA’s request comes in the light of its decision to create Videsh Bhawans in State capitals that would serve as an integrated complex of all the offices of the External Affairs Ministry located in the State Capital.

The State government, in its order issued on Friday, said that the MEA’s request was referred to the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration who in turn placed it before the Telangana State Land Management Authority in its meeting.

Deliberations

The land management authority after due deliberations on the issue recommended allotment of the land for construction of the Videsh Bhawan on payment of prevailing market value of ₹80,000 a sq.yard.

It had, however, left the final decision to the government which was the competent authority for taking a final decision on the matter in view of the prestigious nature of the project.

The government, after examining the matter in detail, decided to allot the land on payment of basic value of ₹30,000 a sq.yard, the order said adding that the Ranga Reddy district collector and the CCLA would take further action.
