Several youngsters from different parts of the city have reportedly been picked up by the police for questioning in the Dilsukhnagar twin blasts case in past few days.
A student of Anwar-ul-Uloom College pursuing B.Com. Syed Adnan, was allegedly taken away by policemen in plainclothes when he stepped out of his house at Ameen Colony in Saidabad two days ago.
His father Syed Haji, a retired government employee, urged the government to help trace his son. “I approached the Malakpet police and other police officials. Even 36 hours after taking away my son, we were kept in the dark about his safety,” Mr. Haji said speaking to media persons. He said that he had sent telegrams to the High Court and the State Human Rights Commission seeking their help in finding his son. In another instance, Hafeez Abrar (32), of Akbarbagh was also picked up by policemen in plainclothes. He was driven away in a Tata Sumo to an undisclosed location.
Lateef Khan of Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee-India said innocent Muslim youths being detained by the police illegally in the name of investigation, be released immediately.
