Telecast of Telugu television channels TV 9 and ABN were stopped in Telangana four months ago.

After remaining blocked for almost four months, the TV9 channel resumed its broadcast in most parts of the city. Two multi-system operators (MSOs) – Hathway and Citivision – have resumed their broadcast, which is said to cover around 75 to 80 per cent of the city.

The TV9 resumed its broadcast following the recent order by Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT).

According to information available, the Telangana State has a total of 51 registered MSOs and a decision from the remaining 49 MSOs was awaited, which means the entire State would be covered.

Meanwhile, the employees of the ABN channel staged a demonstration at the media point in the Legislative Assembly demanding the government to intervene and allow transmission of the channel in the State.

They warned of intensifying their stir if their demand was not met.
