Film producer Paruchuri Prasad was slapped with a criminal case on Monday after he allegedly misbehaved with a TV artiste at a ‘friendship day’ party organised at the office of music director Chakri in Srinagar Colony under the Banjara Hills police station limits.
The name of Chakri also figured as accused number two in the First Information Report issued by the Banjara Hills police following a complaint lodged by the artiste. The party was held in Chakri’s office on Sunday night, Banjara Hills Inspector Murali Krishna said.
The woman, along with some other male artistes attended the party late in the night.
“The woman didn’t give us precise details but in the complaint she charged the producer with outraging her modesty. We are yet to register her statement,” he said.
In the complaint lodged on Monday morning, she maintained that the producer misbehaved with her.
She accused the music director, Chakri, of trying to pacify her saying the producer would give her a role in his next film.
A case under sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) and 342 (wrongful restraint) of Indian Penal Code was registered.
