TTD launches Subhapradam for youth

Summer camp to impart spiritual values to students

The week-long Subhapradam, conducted jointly by the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) and the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad, got off to start on a religious note amid chanting of vedic hymns at Vivekananda Vidyanikethan High School here on Saturday.

The priests conducted a ‘Saraswathi homam’ in a traditional manner on the occasion. Government whip Koppula Eshwar participated in the inaugural session. The programme is scheduled to be on till June 9.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Eshwar lauded the TTD for conducting a unique programme to propagate the moral and ethical values among the adolescent age students. He called upon the students to utilize the opportunity and emerge as role models in society to uphold the Indian tradition, culture and values.

Yoga classes

As part of the week-long Subhapradam programme, the students would be provided free boarding and lodging in the school. They would be taught yoga and make them participate in the puja rituals and singing of devotional songs. Besides, the teachers would impart classes on the moral and ethical values. In the evening, they would conduct cultural programmes on various religious issues.

The students were given study material printed by the TTD. Main sponsors Vivekananda Vidyanikethan High School chairman S. Komuraiah, Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad president Gandra Laxman Rao, TTD observer Janardhan, manager Srinivas and others were present.
