TSRTC’s Vajra buses bag award

The Vajra air-conditioned buses introduced by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) last year have bagged the National Public Transport Excellence Award from the Ministry of Road Transport.

The award was received by TSRTC Managing Director G.V. Ramana Rao and Deputy Chief Traffic Managers N. Sudershan and P. Jeevan Prasad at a function held in New Delhi on Friday. It was given away by Additional Secretary in the Ministry, Leena Nandan and Joint Secretary Abhay Damle.

The criteria for the award, a press release said was that the Vajra bus was the first-of-its-kind in the country pressed into service with the express purpose of promoting inter-city travel, together with the concept of ‘service at the doorsteps of people with booking online and through mobile Apps, apart from accepting digital transactions.
