Teachers recruitment test, to be conducted by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) for the first time, will be held in the second week of February next year, for filling up 8,792 posts.

The TSPSC issued the notification on Saturday for the recruitment for the first time after Telangana attained separate Statehood. Out of the total posts, 5415 are regarding secondary grade teachers, 1941 are for school assistants, 1011 are for language pandits, 416 are for physical education teachers and nine for physical directors.

The number of vacancies may vary at the time of the examination. If a candidate wants to apply for different posts, separate applications would have to be submitted for each notification. The notification says the TSPSC shall reserve the right to conduct the test in the format of Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) if the need arises. The TSPSC Chairman Ghanta Chakrapani said the applications will be accepted from October 30 and the last date for submission would be November 30. Recruitment would be done based on the new districts rather than the old 10 districts. The nativity of the candidate will be decided based on the existing norms used for all entrance tests in the State.

However, 80% of vacancies would be reserved for the local candidates while the remaining 20% would be in open general, where non-locals too could apply.

Applicants must give all the details of their academics right from SSC to post graduation. Aadhar number is mandatory while applying and details are available on ‘www.tspsc.gov.in’.

There is no change in the exam pattern or the syllabus and SCERT prescribed syllabus would be followed. The test will be for 80 marks with 160 questions while 20 marks would be based on the scores obtained in the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), which is mandatory for all exams except the physical education posts.
