A woman cricketer from Telangana, Sindhuja Reddy, who represented the Hyderabad women’s cricket team including as the captain at under-19 level and who also represented the Indian colts team in the past, has been selected to play for the cricket team of United States of America (USA).

She is expected to play as the wicket keeper-batsman for the US team in the ICC world cup qualifying tournament to be held in Scotland soon.

A native of Amangal village of Vemulapalli mandal in Nalgonda district, Ms. Reddy shifted to the US recently after marrying Sidda Reddy settled there. She is a B.Tech and MBA degree holder.

Expressing happiness over their daughter’s selection to the US team, parents of Ms. Reddy G. Laxmi Reddy and G. Spuradhar Reddy said in a statement on Tuesday that Sindhuja was interested in playing cricket from her childhood and she continued to play the game even after marriage.
