Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT K.T. Rama Rao on Monday stated that a meeting would be held with representatives of several international funding agencies as part of mobilising resources for the Telangana Drinking Water project in the first week of April.

At a review meeting held on the project, officials informed the Minister that works on the intake wells would be taken up in a couple of days.

The officials told the Minister that line survey required for preparing detailed project reports was complete in all districts.

The Minister directed the engineers to take up field visits in different parts of the country where huge trunk pipes were being used to supply drinking water, before selecting the pipes to be used in Telangana.

He sought to know the extent of likely funding by JICA, LIC, Hudco and Nabard from officials.
