TS kids bag honours in AP-EAMCET

Bhogi Suraj Krishna of Srikakulam district, the top ranker in the IIT-JEE Mains 2018 examination, emerged topper in the engineering stream. Telangana’s Gattu Mytreya, who came fifth in the IIT-JEE Main exams, bagged the second rank. Both belong to Sri Chaitanya Institutions.

Students of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana shared the top honours, said the HRD Minister, Ganta Srinivasa Rao after releasing the results in Vijayawada on Wednesday. In the engineering stream, 72.28 % students qualified. Six out of the top 10 ranks were bagged by Telangana students. P. Lokeswar Reddy of Kadapa district secured third rank, G. V. Srivardhan (4th), Shaik Wajid (5th), B. Jishnu (6th), A. V. Phani Vamsinath (7th) — all Ranga Reddy district. K.V.R. Hemant Kumar Chodipilli of Visakhapatnam (8th), B. Yagneswar of Guntur district (9th) and M. V. Manogna of Ranga Reddy (10th).

In the agriculture stream, 63,883 (87.60 %) of the 73,373 students qualified while 2,668 students were not given ranks. Jangala Sai Supriya (Visakhapatnam) emerged topper. Ganjikunta Sreevathsav (Kurnool) second, Koduru Sriharsha (Krishna) third, Gande Adarsh (Karimnagar) fourth, Shaik Janubhai Rafiya Kulsum (Anantapur) fifth. All the top five rankers also belong to Sri Chaitanya institutions. Other rankers were Muktevi Jaya Surya (Hyderabad) sixth, Nalluri Venkata Vijaya Krishna (Guntur) seventh and Venkata Sai Amrutha Neeli (Guntur) secured eighth rank.

The Minister said efforts were on to start counselling for admission in the engineering and the agriculture colleges from May 26 and commence the classes from June 11.
