Agriculture Department Secretary C. Parthasarathy has been nominated as the co-chairman of the National Task Force on OECD seed schemes. The development comes as part of the announcement of revised structure of national task force made on Wednesday. Union Agriculture Department Joint Secretary (Seeds) B. Rajender will be the chairman of the task force which included Telangana State Seed and Organic Certification Authority director K. Keshavulu as member.
The new task force had been entrusted with conducting meetings with stakeholders on the implementation of the OECD schemes, coordinate the OECD programme for implementation and budgetary support and encourage seed export by the domestic industry besides ensuring effective cooperation with international organisations, according to an official release.
