TRS taking steps against interests of people: CPI (M)

Three-day party meeting to begin today

October 03, 2017 12:39 am | Updated 12:40 am IST - HYDERABAD

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samithi Government for taking measures that are against the interests of people of the State. The CPI (M) alleged that the Government had failed to fulfil the slew of promises it made to people and was, in fact, trying to implement unconstitutional measures like constitution of farmers coordination committees (G.O. Ms. 39). The development comes at a time when the BJP-led Central Government was implementing a spree of anti-people measures like demonetisation which led to large-scale unemployment. Rather than opposing the Centre’s measures that were imposing huge burden on the common people, the State Government was compromising with the BJP on key issues. The CPI (M) had decided to discuss these issues during the party’s State committee meetings slated to be held here from Tuesday. The three-day meeting would commence with the meeting of the State secretariat on Tuesday and followed by the State committee meeting on October 4 and 5. The meeting would also discuss about the arrangements that should be made for the conduct of the party’s 22nd national congress scheduled to be held here in April.
