Several literary and cultural bodies and individuals associated with the field of literature paid rich tributes to noted writer and Central Sahitya Akademi award winner Samala Sadasiva (89), who died at his residence in Adilabad on Tuesday.

In a condolence message issued on behalf of Minister for Culture Vatti Vasanth Kumar, Director of Culture Rallabandi Kavitaprasad said the death of Sadasiva was a great loss to the Telugu literary field as he was an authority in Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Persian, Marathi, English and Sanskrit languages. Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Cultural Council R.V. Ramanamurthy, termed him as a bridge between Telugu and Marathi.

Chairman of Chelimi Foundation M. Vedakumar said Sadasiva had introduced several Hindustani and Carnatic music exponents. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader T. Devender Goud also expressed grief over Sadashiva’s death.
