An Adivasi youth of Gollapalli, in Sukma district of the neighbouring Chhattisgarh, sustained a pellet injury when a country-made gun went off accidentally during hunting of wild animals by a group of suspected poachers in the Veerapuram forest area close to the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border on Sunday.

The incident came to light on Monday after the injured youth, identified as Musati Muya, 20, was brought to a private hospital in Bhadrachalam by his relatives in the morning.

A team of doctors removed the pellet from the lower abdomen of Muya after conducting an emergency surgery that lasted over an hour at a private nursing home in the temple town.

The condition of Muya was stated to be stable.

The temple town police passed on the information to their counterparts in Chhattisgarh for ascertaining the facts about the incident.
