Tribal girl gang-raped

In a shocking incident that came into light on Thursday night, a teenaged tribal girl was raped in custody allegedly by three unidentified youths for the last three days in the suburbs of Rampachodavaram in East Godavari district. The girl belongs to Pullangi village of Maredumilli mandal in this division and came to attend SSC compartmental examinations in Rampachodavaram.

Her family members lodged a complaint in Rampachodavaram police station on Thursday. The accused are at large and the police have launched a manhunt to catch the culprits. According to the details available, the names of the accused are Kiran, Sai and Nani who all seem to be autorickshaw drivers.

According to DSP S. Chaitanya Kumar, all the three accused are non-tribals.
