‘HYLITES’ will give info about arrivals and departures of MMTS, express and passenger train

South Central Railway (SCR) launched ‘Hyderabad Live Train Enquiry System’ (HYLITES), a mobile application for Android smartphones, which gives real time information of 121 MMTS trains and the arrival and departures of express and passenger trains at Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda stations.

Everyday about 1.5 lakh passengers travel in MMTS trains in the capital and most complain about the poor punctuality of these trains. SCR authorities claim that the application will come in handy for passengers as they can track the movement of MMTS trains and plan their journey accordingly and all this for free of cost.

The application is developed in association with Techgene Solutions Private Limited, a private company.

Passengers have to download the application in their android smartphones and track all the information, including the arrival of a MMTS train or its scheduled departure from a station. It also provides lot of other information such as nearest station, MMTS fares, time-table, route maps, etc.

In addition to this, users can track the arrival of express and passenger trains at the three important stations in the capital. Information can be accessed in three different languages. “It’s a step closer to passengers and we are working on introducing the service in iphone, windows phones, besides extending it to other divisions of SCR,” said P.K. Srivastava, General Manager of SCR after formally launching the application here on Monday.

Feeder buses

Mr. Srivastava said efforts were on in coordinating with APSRTC for operating more feeder buses to MMTS stations for passengers’ convenience. About the long-pending demand for dedicated network for MMTS trains, he replied that there could be some provision in MMTS phase II as few trains can be operated in select corridors.

Techgene CEO Kumar Kukunuru said a core team worked for over a month to develop the application.
