Tragedy chases Army man, literally

A 30-year-old Army man died after he fell in a pothole and came under the wheels of an RTC bus coming from behind on Attapur main road on Thursday.

Police said Mukesh Kumar Jha, working as a Naik, was on his way to Attapur on his motorcycle when the RTC bus driver kept blowing the horn continuously for giving way to the bus. Jha swerved to his left and fell in the pothole. As ill-luck would have it, he came under the wheels of the bus which came from behind, police said. Passers-by rushed him to the Military Hospital, Golconda where doctors declared him brought dead. Jha was from Begusarai in Bihar.

Cook run over by car

A 40-year-old pedestrian died on the spot after a speeding car ran over him at Narsingi on Wednesday night.

Shaik Ishaq Ali, was working as a cook at a hotel in Narsingi. The accident occurred when Ali was crossing the road. The car driver sped away after the mishap. A case under Section 304-A (causing death due to negligence) of IPC was registered against the accused, police said. Efforts were on to trace the vehicle and the driver.
