It was not a usual Sunday at Hussainsagar. Amidst overcast conditions and colourful sailing boats, “Maryada Ramanna” film team, including director S.S. Rajamouli, actors Sunil and Saloni, flushed with good reviews, added a tinge of film glamour to the picturesque atmosphere.

They had come to participate in “Save the Lake” campaign by Big FM 92.7 radio in association with the Indian Army.

A live radio booth mounted on an Army boat is to go around the lake throughout the campaign for 92.7 hours.

Citizens would be requested to pledge their support to save the lake and NGO's, celebrities, officials, listeners and others would be invited to share their memoirs and concerns in protecting the lake, said Big FM Station Head R. Bhasker.

“Restoration of the lake is people's responsibility as well”, said Mr. Rajamouli.

Army's Colonel Das said Hussainsagar was once a beautiful lake and the onus was on the people to restore its beauty.
