T-March violence: 25 cases registered

The police on Monday registered 25 criminal cases in connection with violent incidents reported during Sagara Haram on Necklace Road convened by the Telangana Joint Action Committee on Sunday.

Among others, the names of TJAC chairman M. Kodandaram, and Telangana Employees leader Srinivas Goud, figured in some of these cases, the police said.

The police had formed three special teams led by officers of the rank of Inspectors from the Central Crime Station to investigate into the cases.

The police teams visited Telugu Talli statue, PV Ghat, Necklace Road rotary, Eat Street and Jala Vihar where mobs damaged properties and set vehicles on fire.

In addition to sections of conspiracy and arson of Indian Penal Code (IPC), relevant provisions of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act were invoked in the registered cases.
