Tight security for procession

High definition surveillance cameras installed as part of CCTV projects in city have come in handy for Hyderabad police to keep tab on the Hanuman Jayanti procession to be taken out from Gowliguda to Imperial Garden in Bowenpally today (Friday).

Normally, police temporary install cameras to record video of such procession to monitor it and identify trouble mongersif things go wrong.

This year more than half of the procession route had already got cameras,which were installed under CCTV projects in different localities.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy and GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy inspected the route in the morning.

They instructed the staff to ensure no stones or garbage was found on the route and connected roads.

Elaborate security arrangements were made by the police. Additional forces were also kept ready to meet any eventuality.

Bajarang Dal Telangana State convenor Bhanu Prakash and Vishwa Hindu Parishad All-India general secretary Surender Jain will address the gathering at Koti during the procession.
