TiE event to help startups raise funds

The second edition of ‘The Guardian Angel’ instant fund raising programme for start-ups is to be organised in the city on June 24 by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Hyderabad.

Over 125 applications have been received for the event that has been inspired by popular TV Series ‘Shark Tank’. The first edition of ‘The Guardian Angel’ had three start ups raising ₹ 1.75 crore.

The organisers expect this year’s event to set a new record, TiE Hyderabad president Pradeep Mittal said. Counting it among the many initiatives of TiE Hyderabad aimed at supporting start-ups, he said the event would not only strengthen the eco-system but also bring sustenance.

The Guardian Angel facilitates funding from ₹ 5 lakh to ₹ 2 crore. It fulfills a critical growth factor through funding and investment support, he said in a release.

Chair of The Guardian Angel Rakesh Bhatia said the event would would bring more innovative startups and great stories to the platform.
