Three persons arrested in criminal cases

The Commissioner’s Task Force, (South) officials on Tuesday caught Syed Irfan, 23, of Shahalibanda, accused of involvement in two communal murders four years ago.

Irfan fled to Saudi Arabia to evade arrest then, the police said. He was handed over to Special Investigation Team of Hyderabad Central Crime Station.

In a separate case, dagger and sickle were seized from two persons - Mohd. Manzoor, 35, an auto-rickshaw driver from Kanchanbagh and Mirza Feroz Ali Baig, painter from Shaheehnagar. They were allegedly involved in two crimes earlier. The duo was handed over to Kanchanbagh police for further action.

Man held for tampering passport

Ashraf Kandoth Chalil, 38, who had flown in from Dubai to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad allegedly with a tampered passport, was caught by the immigration authorities on Tuesday.

Chalil of Kerala had been working in Dubai for past 11 years. He claimed that his employer detained his passport in Dubai. He claimed that he had secured another passport, which was in the name of Habeeb Rahman Mavathuparambil Hamza, from a broker in Dubai to return to India.

He substituted Hamza’s photo in the passport with that of his and flew to Hyderabad.

Unaccounted money seized from two

Vanasthalipuram police on Tuesday seized Rs.14.12 lakh from two persons on Tuesday during vehicle checking. While Rs.8.12 lakh were seized at Peddamberpet from the car of a petrol bunk owner - Eshwar, Rs.6 lakh were seized from a Scorpio belonging to a businessman from West Marredpally S. Sanjiv Reddy. Both failed to present documents confirming source of the money, the police said.
